Telangana TDP MLC Deepak Reddy Remanded In Land Scam

Telugu Desam Party MLC Deepak Reddy and two others arrested in connection with yet another multi-crore land scam in and around Hyderabad and other places in Telangana were today remanded to judicial custody for 14 days and sent to the Chanchalguda central jail.

Reddy, who is the son-in-law of J C Diwakar Reddy, a former Congress minister and now TDP MP from Anantapur, along with other accused persons Sailesh Saxena, an advocate, and a document writer Srinivas, allegedly created false documents and other papers on benami names and grabbed private and government lands worth hundreds of crores in Bhojaguda, Banjara Hills, Shaikpet and other places.

The City Crime Station sleuths are now planning to take all the three accused into police custody for interrogation. The passport of Deepak Reddy has been confiscated.

It is learnt that Deepak Reddy was allegedly involved in grabbing prime properties and disputed lands, both government and private, even before he had become an MLC. Though his alleged nefarious activities had come to light a few years back, no action was initiated for reasons best known to the police. However, when a case lodged in the Langar Houz police station by a victim in November last was recently transferred to the City Crime Station, the authorities swung into action, especially in the wake of the sensational Miyapur land scam surfacing. This led to the arrest of the three accused.

Deepak Reddy, however, claimed his signatures were forged and that he was falsely implicated in the matter. He said he would soon bring the real facts to light.
