Farmer Koora Suresh, accused of setting a Telangana Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy on fire, died at the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) today while undergoing treatment for the burns that he sustained along with the victim.
Suresh, who had suffered more than 60% burns, had been on a ventilator at the hospital's plastic surgery ICU, and was declared dead today by the doctors at the hospital.
For the uninitiated, Suresh had gone to the Tahsildar's office at Abdullapurmet on November 4, poured petrol over her and
set her on fire. He and the driver of the officer also were engulfed in the flames.
After setting her on fire, Suresh rushed to the nearly police station and surrendered. He was then rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Suresh reportedly killed Vijaya Reddy as he suspected her of siding with those with whom his family had a land dispute in Gourelli village of Rangareddy district.
