Student representatives from all universities across the Telangana region met at Osmania University on Friday, where it was decided that upcoming examinations would not be boycotted.
According to the OU JAC leaders – Pulla Rao Yadav and Marri Anil – appearing for exams would also mean a stay on campus to continue the Telangana agitation. Boycotting them, on the other hand, would mean they would lose their admissions, even though some students saw boycotting as a means of putting pressure on authorities.
The JAC said that a padayatra or a bus yatra would be undertaken to create awareness about the Telangana issue. Also, a campaign to post one crore letters in favour of separate statehood for Telangana to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was started, with a box having been put up on the university campus.
