Osmania Students' Garjana Today
The Osmania University students' JAC is gearing up for the Telangana Vidyarthi Garjana today, with a hassled police force leaving no stone unearthed to ensure peace.

Bouyant with a victory in the High Court that gave them permission yesterday for their cherished goal of demonstrating Telangana student strength, the Osmania University students' JAC is gearing up for the show of strength today, with a hassled police force leaving no stone unearthed to ensure peace - and compliance with the HC order that prohibits any non-students from attending the meeting.
A huge number of students from Telangana districts are descending on the city to take part in the Vidyarthi Garjana (students' roar) being organized as part of the separate state campaign, and while the campus itself is a hubbub of activity with volunteers working against time to set up the infrastructure and make the arrangements for the 4-6pm showpiece event that got a permit at the last minute, the police force appears omnipresent, too.
The cops have set up outposts on all roads leading to the city, are performing checks on wannabe participants at every step, and are in general keeping an eagle-eye on everything.
Needless to say, there are huge traffic diversions all around the campus. The Moulali-Tarnaka traffic has been diverted and vehicular movement on the Sitaphalmandi flyover has been blocked, among various other steps. The police have asked incoming students, especially those from Warangal, to park at the HPS Ramanthapur and the Kendriya Vidyalaya.
The OU JAC has requested the DGP not to hassle the students coming to attend the gathering, and has promised to keep things peaceful. It has to, since the HC has said that any violence will be the direct responsibility of the Telangana JAC - whatever that means. The students have to cleatr out of the venue by 6:30pm.
Arrangements are being made for food and water for the students coming in, and 5 large LCD monitors have been put up for the benefit of those who are not too close to the stage.
