Telangana Praja Sanghala Joint Action Committee convener Gajjela Kantham, on Saturday, said that there was no connection between the Telangana statehood issue and the by-elections to be held for 6 Assembly constituencies in the region on 18 March.
Stating that the formation of Telangana would be achieved only with continuous agitation by people, he said that the outcome of the by-elections would not be helpful in mounting pressure on the Centre to announce a favourable decision on separate statehood.
Suspecting the commitment of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao towards achieving statehood for Telangana, he accused KCR of having "mortgaged" the interests of Telangana people to the Centre.
He said that Telangana Praja Sanghala Joint Action Committee would organize a massive convention at Khammam on 25 March and announce its future course of action to be adopted for the Telangana agitation. (INN)
