The newly formed Telangana State announced its first Class 10 results (SSC) on Sunday. While the Warangal district stood on top with 91.6% students passing, the Adilabad district remained at the bottom with 54.9% students passing. The total pass percentage was 77.5.
Deputy Chief Minister (who also handles the education portfolio) Kadiam Srihari released the results in the Secretariat today.
Once again, girls overshadowed boys by achieving a 79.04 pass percentage, and the boys lagged behind with 76.11% of them passing. 28 schools registered a zero result.
Speaking on the occasion, Srihari said that the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Board would conduct an advanced supplementary examination from June 18 to July 2. The last date for paying the examination fee is May 30. The headmasters of the respective schools need to deposit the examination fee in the banks.
Students who want to apply for re-valuation of their papers need to pay the fee within 12 hours from the results being announced. Application forms should be downloaded from www.bsetelangana.org. The filled-in applications must be submitted in the counters set up by the District Education Officer. The re-valuation fee for each subject is Rs. 1,000, and the re-counting fee for each subject is Rs 500.
The Deputy Chief Minister warned the private school managements of stern action as per the law if they gave advertisements of ranks in televisions and newspapers. He said that private students had achieved a 54.13 pass percent in the examination, with 60.32% of girls and 51.17% of boys passing. (NSS)
