State Records More Than 8,000 Cases In One Day
After the collection of over 1.08 lakh samples, Telangana recorded a whopping 8,126 fresh cases on Saturday.

The number of Covid-19 cases in Telangana continues to rise at an unprecedented rate despite the many efforts of the state government to contain the spread of the disease.
A medical bulletin released by the state's health department today said that after the collection of over 1.08 lakh samples, the state recorded a whopping 8,126 fresh cases on Saturday. Out of this, 1,259 were reported in the GHMC area. Also, while Medchal-Malkajgiri reported 676 new cases, Rangareddy reported 591 new cases. The state now has 62,929 active cases and a cumulative case tally of 3,95,232. As a result of the high number of cases, Telangana has 293 active micro-containment zones.
Further, the state recorded a total of 38 Covid-19 fatalities. With this, the cumulative number of fatalities in the state has gone up to 1,999. Hearteningly, the case fatality rate is 0.50% and a recovery rate of 83.57%.
However, on a happier note, a total of 3,307 recoveries were also recorded yesterday.
Meanwhile, as of now, the Telangana government has already administered the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to over 35.14 lakh people in the state, and both doses to over 4.91 lakh people.
