Minister for Endowments Gade Venkata Reddy on Monday denied saying that those seeking partition of the state as committing treason in the report that Seemandhra ministers submitted to the Srikrishna Committee.
Talking to media persons at Bapatla in Guntur district, Gade questioned, "How can I, and the other ministers, who are in a responsible position, make such irresponsible statements before the Commission?"
He alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders are indulging in spreading canards against Seemandhra ministers, to obtain political mileage.
He said that his representation to the Commission stated that the culture and language of state will be affected due to bifurcation.
Gade's clarification comes after the TRS leadership upped the ante by
demanding that chief minister K Rosaiah sack all the 16 ministers who submitted their representations before the Srikrishna Panel, if they do not offer an unconditional apology for the alleged remarks.
The minister also slammed the TRS leadership for issuing warnings that the ministers would not be allowed to visit in the Telangana region unless they withdraw their remarks and offer an unconditional apology to Telangana people. Some TRS activists had, on Sunday, even
staged rasta rokos, in some Telangana districts, to pressurise the government to sack the ministers.
Gade said that the ministers will not bow down to the threats by TRS, and termed these threats as unwarranted and uncalled for.
When asked to comment on the Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu's agitation against corruption in TTD, Gade said the TDP leader wants to scrap the TTD Board and remove the chairman Adikesavulu Naidu.
He sought to reminded Naidu that he was the one who had appointed Adikesavulu Naidu as TTD chairman during his reign.
The Endowments Minister said that the government had suspended corrupt officials in Arjita Seva tickets scam, and ordered for a Vigilance Enforcement DGP inquiry into the entire issue, to bring facts to light.
