Activists of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Sunday started their 'rasta roko' to protest against the fact that Seemandhra ministers called people who supported a separate Telangana 'traitors'.
The protestors managed to disrupt traffic at Kataram and Mahadevpur mandals in Karimnagar district, and also in front of the Pochamma Grounds in Warangal district.
Raising slogans against the Seemandhra ministers, the TRS activists squatted on the road and held up the traffic.
The protests followed TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao's
demand that the Seemandhra ministers apologise to the 4 crore people of the Telangana region for allegedly calling them 'traitors'.
The Seemandhra leaders had reportedly called them so when they submitted their representations before the Committee for Consultations on the Situation in Andhra Pradesh (CCSAP).
KCR had also urged Governor E S L Narasimhan to dismiss the 16 Seemandhra ministers if the CM did not sack them.
The TRS chief had said that the 16 ministers had forgotten that they were representing the entire state and not just 2 regions.
Sunday's protests were supported by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee.
