Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah has said that the State Government has initiated the process of improving healthcare right from the mandal level across Telangana.
Speaking at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Gandhi Medical College on Sunday, Dr Rajaiah said that adequate budgetary allocations were being made for the medical and health sector to fulfill all the healthcare-related promises made to the people.
He reiterated that the government would establish one super specialty hospital in each district.
Similarly, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was seriously considering the demand for setting up one medical college in each district of the State, he said, adding that efforts were also being made to increase the number of seats in super-specialty courses.
The government would soon issue orders to ensure that junior doctors compulsorily served in rural areas for a specified period, he stated.
Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that the government was committed to providing better medical facilities to all the sections of the society including policemen. He sought suggestions from the doctors on extending better healthcare and preventive medicines to policemen across the State.
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said that the government would ensure that it fulfilled all the promises it made with regard to providing medical facilities and healthcare to people of Telangana. He also assured better facilities in all the public hospitals in the State.
