Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy today convened a review meeting with the concerned officials regarding the reopening of the schools and colleges of the state.
At the meeting, she instructed the officials to formulate a set of guidelines for the reopening of the educational institutions for Classes IX and X, and intermediate, degree, and vocational courses, and to issue a calendar for the present academic year based on the same.
The officials were asked to submit the guidelines by January 20.
The minister then issued instructions to the district Collectors to oversee the preparations being for the reopening of all educational institutions, hostels and residential schools. She also told them to make arrangements for the supply of food grains to the government schools and institutions for the mid-day meal scheme.
The teachers and managements of private educational institutions were also asked to complete the necessary preparations to resume on-site classes in February, by January 25.
To ensure that the reopening does not get impeded by delays, another high-level review meeting will be held on January 18, and will be followed by a meeting with the managements of the state's private educational institutions on January 19.
Special Chief Secretary to Government (Education) Chitra Ramachandran, Commissioner of Technical and Collegiate Education Navin Mittal, Commissioner of Intermediate Education and Board of Intermediate Education Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel and Commissioner and Director of School Education A Sridevasena were among the other officials who participated in the meeting.
The meeting was held after Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao directed the concerned officials to begin preparations for the reopening of the educational institutions
in the state.
