Director General of Police for Telangana Anurag Sharma on Monday said that an alert had been sounded across Telangana State, especially the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates' limits, in view of the bomb blast in Bangalore.
Addressing the annual conference at the State Police Headquarters, the DGP said that no specific alert or input had been received from the Centre. However, in view of the Bangalore blast, the police personnel across the State had been asked to stay alert.
He maintained that there was no communication gap between the State and Central intelligence agencies, and that there was no specific security threat in the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police limits.
The DGP said that specific instructions had been issued to the organisers of New Year parties across the State, and that all hotels, clubs, resorts and other venues were given mandatory security and other measures to follow.
Referring to the terrorist attack on the Peshawar school, Sharma said since it was not possible to provide security at all schools, and that the managements, parents and students had been advised to take all precautionary measures. However, he said that armed vehicles and pickets were being deployed in school zones. (INN)
