Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today held a review meeting on the issues pertaining to the Police Department at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday.
Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, DGP Anurag Sharma, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy, Home Secretary Rajiv Trivedi, Mission Bhagiratha Vice-Chairman Vemula Prashanth Reddy, and other officials from the CMO participated.
The Chief Minister said that both the Police and industries departments were doing a great job, and that several people visiting the city from other States vouched for it and gave positive feedback.
After the State government introduced the new industrial policy TS-iPass, as many as 2,500 new industries came to the State which was largely due to the efficient enforcement of law and order in the State.
There was a remarkable drop in crime rates in the State and the police were also reforming the people who have committed crimes, which was a humanitarian approach, he claimed, praising the cops.
DGP Anurag Sharma apprised the CM about the need to appoint more police constables and explained other issues in the department. A discussion about filling vacancies in the constable cadre took place. KCR assured Sharma that he would soon fix all the issues.
