Hyderabad | 13th January 2012
Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman M Kodandaram, on Friday, stated that the JAC would convene a massive conference on 20 January to discuss the future course of action to achieve statehood for the Telangana region.
In a press statement following a JAC meeting at the BJP's State office in Nampally, Kodandaram said that the JAC, in its meeting, will discuss the state of agitations.
Prior to the convention, he stated, that the JAC will convene a meeting with the district JAC leaders before 19 January.
Kodandaram alleged that the state government has violated all its promises made to the employees during the Sakala Janula Samme.
Apart from violating the terms of the agreements, he said, the government has been resorting to the harassment of employees, and that it has been using ACB as a tool to suppress them.
He said that a sub-committee has been appointed under the JAC to study the violations in the agreements.
The JAC is to submit the committee's report to the government, seeking a response to the employees' demands - regularization of services, leaves, ACB raids and harassment of employees.
The TP-JAC said that the JAC will extend its support to the BJP's Telangana Poruyatra, which starts in Mahbubnagar on 19 January.
Telangana Gazetted Employees Association President Srinivas Goud alleged that the government has resorted to a divide-and-rule policy in regard to the Telangana employees, on agreements made during the Sakala Janula Samme, by filing fake cases against the JAC leaders.
Condemning the harassment, Kondandaram warned the government of serious consequences, and demanded the implementation of all agreements.
BJP Telangana Forum Chairman Rajeswara Rao sought the support of the TP JAC for the party's Telangana Poruyatra from Mahbubnagar to Khammam, that will take place from 19 January to 9 February.
TRS leader Nayane Narsimhareddy, and BJP State President Kishen Reddy were also present at the meeting. (INN)
