Several activists of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee were taken into custody when they tried to barge into the office of the YSR Congress party at Jubilee Hills on Sunday.
The OUJAC members held strong protests at the YSRCP office, and accused the party's MLAs of trying to sabotage the formation of a separate Telangana state by way of "mass resignations" at a time when the Centre was taking a "favourable" decision on the statehood issue.
When the pro-Telangana activists tried to break open the office gate, the police foiled their attempt and took them into custody. They were shifted to a nearby police station, and released later.
Meanwhile, activists at Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad shouted slogans against YSRCP honorary president Vijayamma, when she went to participate in the Bonalu Jatara there.
