Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K T Rama Rao on Saturday stated that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao would sit for an indefinite hunger fast between Dussehra and Deepavali.
Addressing a gathering as part of the 48-hour rail roko being observed under the aegis of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee at Moulali station, Rama Rao said the final decision in this regard would be taken by the Telangana Political JAC.
The TRS MLA, who is also KCR's son, said that the family has advised KCR against observing the fast, because of his ill-health. However, he said, KCR is keen on sitting on the fast if the centre fails to take a concrete decision on Telangana statehood soon.
Claiming that the rail roko was a huge success in the region, he said that people from all sections of the region have been voluntarily participating in the agitation. He also hinted that the rail roko would be prolonged if necessary.
Slamming Telugu Desam Telangana Forum members for staging dharnas using its party president N Chandrababu Naidu's photos, he said people "would teach a fitting lesson" to the Forum for adopting an ambivalent stand on Telangana statehood.
He warned about attacks on Forum members if they continue to sit in dharnas using Naidu's photos.
Rama Rao also slammed Congress leaders for sticking to their posts, and alleged that they are not committed towards achieving Telangana. He asked both Congress and TDP Forum members to keep their party agendas and flags aside and work towards the cause of statehood. (INN)
