Telangana Decision On Friday: Digvijay Singh
AICC general Secretary Digvijay Singh says that a conclusive stand will be taken on the Telangana issue after the Congress Core Committee meeting on Friday.
On Thursday, AICC general secretary and incharge of state Congress affairs, Digvijay Singh, said that the Congress Core Committee will take a decision on the Telangana issue during its meeting which is scheduled to be held on Friday.
Digvijay Singh made it clear that the decision on Telangana could not be postponed anymore.
However, he said, the CCC has two options to choose from - it can either maintain the status quo or it can create a separate state.
He also indicated that the Congress alone could not take a decision on the Telangana issue, and that it would have to take other UPA partners into the loop before announcing its decision.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana and Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha have reached the national capital with their individual roadmaps for the satisfactory resolution of the Telangana issue, and these will be presented before the CCC.
The senior leaders of Congress party from both the Telangana and the Seemandhra regions are also camping in Delhi in order to press for their demand. (INN)
