AICC general secretary and AP Congress Affairs in-charge, Digvijay Singh, on Wednesday, justified making Hyderabad as the common capital for the two states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh (or as people have taken to calling it - Rayala-Andhra).
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Digvijay Singh said that there was no harm for the two states to share a capital as it would need some time to create a new capital for Andhra Pradesh.
"People need to understand that unless a new capital is formed, Hyderabad will be the joint capital. Eventually though, it will be in Telangana," he said.
Digvijay Singh was reacting to the objection raised by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi on making Hyderabad as the common capital for the two states for 10 years. He said the new capital for Andhra Pradesh will be created with the Centre's assistance. (INN)
