Naxalites Call For Bharat Bandh On June 10
The Maoist Central Committee spokesperson released a letter announcing the call for the Bandh to protest the "fascist attitude" of the Union government.
Maoist Central Committee spokesperson Mallojula Venugopal Rao (also known as Abhay) today released a letter announcing a call for a Bharat Bandh on June 10 to protest the "fascist attitude" of the Union government.
The statement claimed that 540 Maoists had been killed in counterattacks by central security forces since 2024. It also said that despite the Maoists declaring readiness for peace talks, the government had not stopped Operation Kagar, while the Maoists had maintained restraint for the last two months.
Abhay accused the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister - whom he described as Brahminical Hindutva fascists, bloodthirsty and God-killers - of declaring direct war on the Maoists. Calling May 21 a dark day in the history of the Indian revolutionary movement when in a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, commando units and the Chhattisgarh police in the Narayanpur-Mad area, Maoist Central Committee General Secretary Nambala Keshav Rao alias Basava Raju, along with various levels of leadership of the PLGA, were mercilessly shot dead, he said that the PM and home minister shamelessly declared a fake encounter as a historic victory.
For the uninitiated, the Union government is carrying out "Operation Kagar" with the aim of uprooting the Naxalites. Recently, 27 Maoists lost their lives in an encounter in the border districts of Telangana and Chhattisgarh.
