TRS candidates Bhupal Reddy and Puranam Satish won the elections for the MLC seats under the local bodies' quota for Medak and Adilabad respectively, unopposed.
With the Opposition candidates withdrawing their nominations for the elections for the MLC seat under the local bodies' quota in the Medak district on Friday, TRS candidate Bhupal Reddy is set to win the battle unopposed.
Besides quitting the election fray, Telugu Desam candidate Bal Reddy and Congress leader Shivraj Patil have joined the ruling Party, paving the way for the win for the TRS candidate.
The two leaders joined the TRS in the presence of TRS MLA E Ravinder Reddy.
Likewise, the TRS candidate from Adilabad Puranam Satish was elected unopposed as the other contestants withdrew their nominations.
The TDP candidate Narayan Reddy and independent Riazuddin quit the election fray. They said that they were attracted to the welfare programs of the TRS and so joined it to support Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in creating a Bangaru Telangana.
It may be mentioned here that the TRS candidate for the Warangal district seat Konda Murali also got elected unopposed. And the TRS leadership expects to replicate the same in the other districts, too.
