TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today finalized K Naveen Rao as the TRS candidate for an MLC post under the MLAs' quota.
The seat had fallen vacant with M Hanumantha Rao resigning after he was elected MLA of Malkajgiri in the December Assembly elections. The Election Commission will shortly conduct an election for the post.
KCR was also considering former MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy, who had defected to the TRS in 2016, for the same ticket, but finally decided to go for Rao.
The election for the seat will happen on June 7, and the result will be announced on the same day.
Meanwhile, three more Legislative Council seats of the local authorities constituencies quota will also go in for elections, on May 31.
