Telangana Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy reviewed the functioning of the Animal Husbandry Department in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Pocharam interacted with the senior officials on the activities of their departments, and sought their suggestions to improve their performances.
Speaking to media persons later, Pocharam assured that the Telangana government would take all the measures necessary for the welfare of the farmers in the State.
He expressed regret over the suicide of 2 farmers over the issue of the loan waiver scheme. He appealed to the farmers to observe some restraint, and assured that the government would implement all its promises.
Pocharam said that arrangements were being made for the proper supply of seeds and fertilizers to the farmers for the Kharif season.
Meanwhile, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao held a review meeting with senior officials and enquired about the status of the Pranahita-Chevella, Nizamsagar and Ali Sagar projects.
He asked the officials to prepare a detailed report on the viability of providing irrigation facilities in all the districts of Telangana. (INN)
