A delegation of former Telangana ministers met the Governor and presented their demands for an early payment of relief to the farmers who have been badly affected due to the recent rains.
They requested for release of water from the left canal of the Nagarjuna Sagar, and also for power supply in the summer season.
The Governor assured them that all possible help was to be extended to the farming community and other affected families.
He said that he has already instructed the officials concerned in this regard.
He added that the free supply of power is to be ensured to the small and needy farmers only, and said that it should not be misused by supplying to all embers of the farming community irrespective of their income levels.
He told the people?s representatives to help provide information and to educate by creating necessary awareness on free power.
Former ministers Jana Reddy and Dr J Geetha Reddy, Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar and others were among the delegation that called on the Governor. (INN)
