Governor E S L Narasimhan, who is currently in Delhi on a two-day visit, held a telephonic discussion with the Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty about the crop loss due to heavy rains in the state for the past two days, and enquired about the relief measures that are to be taken up for the farming community.
He also instructed the CS to submit an assessment report on the loss of various crops.
The Governor asked the Chief Secretary to review the situation in collaboration with the Agriculture department and the District Collectors of the affected districts, and to take up immediate possible relief measures to help the farmers. (INN)
