21 IPS officers have been transferred and given new postings in Telangana.
In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Telangana government has transferred and reassigned several Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to new positions.
Key transfers and postings:
Dr Anil Kumar, IPS (1996): The current Director General of the Telangana Special Protection Force (TSPF), Dr Kumar has been appointed as the Additional Director General of Police (Personnel) at the Office of the Director General of Police, Telangana, Hyderabad, relieving Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS (1995), from the additional charge of that role. Dr Kumar will also hold full additional charge as Director General of the TSPF until further orders.
M Srinivasulu, IPS (2006): The former Commissioner of Police of Ramagundam, Srinivasulu has been appointed as the Inspector General of Police, CID, filling an existing vacancy.
Ambar Kishor Jha, IPS (2009): Previously the Commissioner of Police of Warangal, Jha has been reassigned as the Commissioner of Police of Ramagundam, succeeding M Srinivasulu.
Sunpreet Singh, IPS (2011): Upon his promotion to Deputy Inspector General of Police, Singh has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Warangal, taking over from Ambar Kishor Jha.
Chetna Mylabhutala, IPS (2013): Formerly the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) at Peddapalli, Ramagundam Commissionerate, Mylabhutala is now the Superintendent of Police (SP), Women Safety Wing, Telangana.
Ch Sindhu Sarma, IPS (2014): Previously the SP of Kamareddy, Sarma has been transferred to serve as SP, Intelligence, filling an existing vacancy.
M Rajesh Chandra, IPS (2015): The former DCP of Yadadri Bhongir, Rachakonda, Chandra has been appointed as SP, Kamareddy, replacing Ch Sindhu Sarma.
Potharaju Sai Chaitanya, IPS (2016): Previously the SP of the Telangana Anti-Narcotic Bureau, Hyderabad, Chaitanya has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Nizamabad, relieving Ch Sindhu Sarma from additional charge.
Gaush Alam, IPS (2017): Former SP of Adilabad, Alam is now the Commissioner of Police, Karimnagar, succeeding Abhishek Mohanty, IPS (2011), who has been relieved from the Telangana cadre.
Akhil Mahajan, IPS (2017): The former SP of Rajanna Sircilla, Mahajan has been transferred to serve as SP, Adilabad, replacing Gaush Alam.
Chennuri Rupesh, IPS (2017): Previously the SP of Sangareddy, Rupesh is now the SP of the Telangana Anti-Narcotic Bureau, Hyderabad, succeeding Potharaju Sai Chaitanya.
Akshansh Yadav, IPS (2019): Former DCP of the Central Zone, Hyderabad City, Yadav has been appointed as DCP, Yadadri Bhongir, Rachakonda, replacing M Rajesh Chandra.
Paritosh Pankaj, IPS (2020): Previously Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at Kothagudem, Pankaj has been appointed as SP, Sangareddy, succeeding Chennuri Rupesh.
Gite Mahesh Babasaheb, IPS (2020): Former OSD at Mulugu, Babasaheb is now the SP of Rajanna Sircilla, replacing Akhil Mahajan.
Ankit Kumar Sahkhwar, IPS (2020): Awaiting posting, Sahkhwar has been appointed as DCP, Warangal East, replacing P Ravinder, SP (Non-Cadre).
A Bhaskar, IPS (2020): Bhaskar has been appointed as DCP, Mancherial, Ramagundam.
K Narasimha, IPS (2020): Narasimha has been appointed as SP, Suryapet, replacing Sunpreet Singh.
K Shilpavalli, IPS (2020): Shilpavalli has been appointed as DCP, Central Zone, Hyderabad City, replacing Akshansh Yadav.
Y Saisekhar, IPS: Saisekhar has been appointed as SP, SIB, Intelligence.
P Karunakar, SP (Non-Cadre): Karunakar has been appointed as DCP, Peddapalli, Ramagundam Commissionerate, replacing Chetna Mylabhutala.
