Former minister Damodar Reddy, MPs Vivekananda and Manda Jagannadham on Sunday attempted to pin the blame for the disruption of the Telangana martyrs' memorial meeting held at Zilla Parishad mini-stadium in Mahabubnagar district on Saturday on 'vested elements'.
Talking to media persons at the CLP media point on Sunday separately, the 3 leaders avoided any mention of the remarks allegedly made against former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy by former minister VH Hanumantha Rao. Hanumantha Rao had allegedly remarked that YSR was against a separate Telangana state in an attempt to calm some the former chief minister's loyalists who were protesting against the absence of his posters at the meeting.
The YSR loyalists had raised slogans disrupting speeches of Congress senior leaders V Hanumantha Rao and K Kesava Rao.
The 3 Congress leaders however chose to ignore the remarks and instead stated that some vested elements were behind the disruption of meeting. They also vowed that they would not bow down to such pressure tactics. The 3 leaders also vowed that they would continue their fight until they achieved Telangana state.
The trio also stated that they would expose the people behind the fiasco soon.
The 3 leaders warned of serious consequences if the vested interests resorted to such cheap tricks and stated that they suspected the hands of leaders from Seemandhra region behind the fiasco.
