Former minister P Shankar Rao, on Thursday, requested the Andhra Pradesh High Court to take action against the Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy and other police officials for contempt of court.
In a letter written to the Chief Justice of the High Court, Shankar Rao said that these police officials had violated an earlier order that restricted the entry of police officials into the Osmania University campus without the permission of the university's vice-chancellor.
He alleged that the police officials he mentioned had violated the court's orders several times during the Telangana March.
He requested that the High Court take action against the DGP, City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma, and other officials concerned, for contempt of court.
Addressing a press conference in the Assembly premises, Shankar Rao also asked the Congress MPs from Telangana region to move a privilege motion against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar for their arrest during the Telangana March.
He said that the Chief Minister had insulted the elected representatives of the Telangana region by restricting their entry into his camp office. He alleged that the MPs were stopped at a distance of about a half a kilometre from the CM's camp office. (INN)
