Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali has promised total transparency in the implementation of the Rs 1 a kg fine rice scheme across Telangana State.
Speaking after launching the scheme at Malakpet on Tuesday, the Deputy CM said that the implementation of the scheme was being monitored by a Task Force headed by Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajender.
He said that steps were being taken to prevent the black marketing of fine rice meant for the poor people. He said that the deserving beneficiaries were being supplied six kgs of fine rice per person at the rate of Rs 1 a kg, and there would be no mediators.
Speaking about the land regularization schemes, he said that free registration of land up to 125 sq yards would help the poor people, and was being done by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to fulfill the promises that were made by the TRS during the elections.
The scheme was also launched by Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Excise Minister T Padma Rao at different places in the city. (INN)
