The Telangana government today launched a new unified online building and layout approval system BuildNow that promises to reduce processing time from weeks to minutes.
The scrutiny time of constructions under the new system is supposed to come down to less than five minutes as against 2-30 days under the existing TG bPASS system.
Unveiling the new system, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu called it a revolutionary step towards modern and citizen-centric governance.
"Approval for even a multi-storied building with three towers, each with 40 floors, will need less than two minutes now," he claimed.
The minister said that since 60% of the State's population was living in urban areas, the government was giving priority to urban development and creating a business-friendly environment.
He also said that Telangana had the fastest drawing scrutiny system in the country, which would revolutionise approvals and set a benchmark for efficiency.
"It has a unified single-window interface that eliminates the necessity for citizens to visit multiple departments and switch between portals. The immersive 3D visualisation technology allows citizens to experience their buildings before construction. And the AI-powered assistants provide instant and accurate guidance on building regulations," he explained.
The minister also claimed that the system, powered by the latest technologies, represented a fundamental shift in how citizens interacted with the government for building regulations and permissions, making the process faster, more reliable and user-friendly.
