The Telangana BJP today released a chargesheet named 'Six Lies and 66 Frauds' against the Congress' one-year rule in Telangana.
Union Minister and State BJP president G Kishan Reddy along with BJP leaders released the chargesheet at Somajiguda.
Reddy alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfill its election promises though a full year had passed since it had come to power, and claimed that no section of society was satisfied with the Congress rule. He said that first the State suffered a decade of BRS corruption, and then adding insult to injury the Congress then came to power making false promises that it had no intention ever of keeping, compounding the misery of Telangana's people.
He accused CM Revanth Reddy of misleading the people with promises to waive the farmers' loans by December 9 after coming to power on December 7, 2023. "That still hasn't been done. Why then is the government celebrating victory? Crores are being spent on these celebrations, surprising the public," he said.
"This is also a highly intolerant government. As the main Opposition, it is our duty to hold the government accountable. But questioning its anti-people policies leads to arrests, lathi-charges and false cases. There's no difference between 10 years of the BRS rule and one year of the Congress rule. And unlike other parties, we are not criticising irresponsibly - we gave a one-year deadline to the government, and questioned it only about the works that should have been started within a year but were not," he said.
Criticizing the "incomplete" loan waiver and the Rythu Bharosa scheme, Reddy claimed that the government had basically backstabbed the farmers. "This BJP chargesheet shows that while the rulers have changed, the governance and the people's lives remain the same," he said.
