The High Command has revived the process of consultations to elicit the opinion of all leaders to find a favourable solution to the Telangana issue, says the CM.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday stated that the High Command has revived the process of consultations to elicit the opinion of all leaders to find a "favourable and amicable solution" to the Telangana issue.
Talking to media persons after attending the mini Core Committee meeting with Congress In-charge Of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the central leadership would take a favourable decision on the controversial statehood issue by arriving at a consensus.
Kiran Kumar Reddy said that he informed the committee about the situation prevailing in the state due to employees' general strike.
"I have asked the Centre to respect the aspirations and sentiments of the people in the region," he said.
Stating that Centre would find an "early" solution to the Telangana issue, the Chief Minister ruled out the imposition of President's rule in the state. He said that the situation in the state had not gone to the level to recommend the imposition of President's Rule.
When reporters about what had transpired between High Command and himself, the Chief Minister refused to elaborate. He also again appealed to on-strike government employees to withdraw strike since it has been causing inconvenience to the common man. (INN)
