In less than five minutes after it assembled, the State Legislative Assembly was adjourned for half-an-hour, following protests by the TRS, BJP and CPI legislators.
This is the fourth consecutive day that the House has been adjourned without carrying out any definite activity.
As soon as the House met at 9am, the TRS MLAs rushed to the podium of Speaker Nadendla Manohar, while chanting "Jai Telangana" slogans. They were joined by the BJP and CPI legislators, who also wanted a Telangana resolution in the House.
They also raised slogans against the arrests by the police to foil the Chalo Assembly.
Following this uproar in the House, the Speaker adjourned the House for half-an-hour (a tactic that has yet to succeed in resolving anything).
This is the fourth consecutive day when the Assembly failed to function after the Telangana issue was brought up.
On the first day of the second leg of the budget session of the Assembly on June 10, the House had carried the condolence motion over the demise of Ambati Brahmanaiah. From the second day onwards, its proceedings remained paralysed. (INN)
