Of the many things that have been deemed controversial of late, the early arrival of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar to the State Legislative Assembly on Friday is the latest (puns or other rhetorical devices are entirely unintended, and completely co-incidental).
TRS and TDP leaders have questioned the arrival of the Chief Minister and Speaker to the Assembly almost two hours before the session was scheduled to begin.
Both the leaders and also DGP V Dinesh Reddy had reportedly reached the Assembly premises at around 7am.
However, the TRS and TDP leaders alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Speaker came to the Assembly without their regular escort.
Talking to reporters at the Assembly's media point, Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convenor Errabelli Dayakar Rao sought an explanation from the leaders over their early arrival to the Assembly. He also demanded that the Chief Minister explain his stand on the Telangana issue.
Stating that the resolution of the Telangana issue in the Assembly alone would not be sufficient, he demanded that the Centre introduce the Telangana Bill in the Parliament, and that all TDP MPs vote in favour of it. (INN)
