KCR ends his 11-day fast after the Centre gives in.
Hyderabad | 10th December 2009
It’s being called a “Victory Rally” now. After 11 days of fasting by TRS chief KCR, Telangana supporters finally had reason to cheer, as the Centre gave in to their demand for the creation of a separate state of Telangana.

The Home Minister, P Chidambaram, announced that the the process would be initiated and an appropriate resolution moved in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. KCR broke his fast soon after the announcement, and thanked “the UPA government and the leaders of all parties who fought for Telangana’s cause.”

The Centre has also requested the AP CM to withdraw all cases filed on or after November 29 2009, against everyone associated with the agitation, including TRS leaders and students.

Supporters across town burst into celebrations, including at the Osmania University. The state government has already deployed 16,000 police personnel across the city, to combat any possibility of trouble-making, in the wake of the Peace Rally announced by Telangana supporters for Thursday. The Karnataka State Armed Reserved Police are also here, along with cops from the centre.

Traffic restrictions are still on, because of the possibility of more people joining the Chalo Assembly rally.

Yesterday, hostels and messes that were shut down after the government’s orders were opened after the High Courts’s directive, but Osmania University was still teeming with security forces and cops.

Meanwhile, Congress legislators are pitching for Hyderabad to be made a Union Territory, rather than a part of Telangana.

for Andhra Pradesh, it's the begining of many black days to come. because i know that even if telangana doesn't happen NOW, the threat of divisive ambitions never dies as long as citizens are willing to be manipulated.
