The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education today issued guidelines which are to be followed by the managements of both the government and private junior colleges of the state after their July 1 reopening.
It has asked the college authorities to hold classes on alternate days for students of the first and second years. Further, the employees of the junior colleges have been asked to report for duty from today itself.
However, the board also clarified that the students who wanted to attend the onsite classes needed to submit consent letters signed by their guardians to the college authorities.
Meanwhile, college administrations have decided to not only resume the offline classes from next month but also conduct online classes simultaneously.
The online classes will reportedly be telecast through Doordarshan and TSat. The board has asked the colleges to hold the online classes through the Google Meet and Zoom platforms as well.
With Inter exams being cancelled this year owing to the ongoing pandemic, some days ago, the Telangana government announced that the second-year Inter marks would be
awarded on the basis of students' first-year grades.
According to reports, the TRS government has decided that second-year students' results will be based on the marks they had secured in their first-year exams. All students will be awarded full marks for their practicals and 35% for any papers in which they have backlogs.
Officials of the education department have stated that those candidates who applied in private would be given the pass mark of 35%.
Those second-year students unsatisfied with the marks they secure may opt to write exams for revised results once the current pandemic situation settles further. It has also been decided that all first-year students will be promoted to the second year.
