The Telangana High Court today dismissed a petition filed by some Group 1 aspirants seeking a stay on the declaration of the results.
The candidates had initially filed a petition, over various issues including reservations and GO No 29, with a High Court single bench seeking the cancellation of the Group 1 Mains examinations. After the single bench dismissed their plea, the candidates challenged the verdict by filing a petition with a division bench within two days. However, the division bench too dismissed their petition.
The aspirants then also filed a last-minute petition in the Supreme Court, which suggested that the decision should be made by the High Court.
Following this, the government conducted the exams as scheduled. (Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had anyway stated earlier that there was no question of postponing the examinations.) The examinations were held from October 21 to 27 this year.
Subsequently, the candidates once again approached the High Court, seeking a stay on the results until the reservation issue was resolved. However, the court dismissed that plea too today.
