Hyderabad | 9th September 2025
In a significant ruling, the Telangana High Court today directed the Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to manually reassess the answer sheets for the Group-1 Mains examination and announce the results within eight weeks.
The court ordered TSPSC to reevaluate all answer sheets from the beginning, following the procedures outlined in the Sanjay vs Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission case, and said that the 563 available positions could only be filled after a thorough and transparent evaluation process.
The court also issued a strict warning against malpractice, stating that further irregularities or failure to comply would result in a complete readministration of the Mains examination.
TSPSC has been given eight weeks from the date of the order to complete the entire process and issue appointment letters.
For the uninitiated, the recruitment process has seen multiple developments over the past year. After the change of government in December 2023, the Congress administration increased the number of Group-1 positions to 563 and issued a new notification in February 2024. The preliminary examination was conducted on June 9, 2024, with a record 3,02,000 candidates appearing.
The Mains examination took place from October 21 to 27, 2024, with 21,093 candidates participating. The results were announced in March 2025, followed by certificate verification in April.
