The Telangana High Court today declined to stay GO 1014 which called for the constitution of a committee to survey the controversial Devarayamjal lands.
The Telangana High Court today heard a petition seeking the dismissal of the IAS committee formed to look into the status of the controversial endowment lands in Devarayamjal.
The bench hearing the petition declined to stay the operation of GO 1014 issued by the state government which had called for the constitution of a committee comprising IAS officers to look into the status of the disputed properties.
The petitioner in the case, Sada Keshava Reddy, was asked to specify exactly what kind of problem he had with the enquiry of the IAS committee.
The court made clear the fact that it was the responsibility of the committee to accomplish the mandate given to it and submit its report to the state government. Further, it asked the petitioner to submit the requisite reports and documents to the committee members conducting the probe.
"The concerned officials have every right to complete the task given to them. They must complete the survey. Further, they can take action against the petitioners if they do not cooperate with the process of the enquiry or fail to comply with their orders," it warned.
When the petitioner pointed out that government officials were entering the disputed lands without any sort of notice, the HC immediately asked the government to issue notices to the owners of the lands before entering them for the enquiry process, and to file its counter in the issue as well.
