The Telangana High Court today gave the green signal to the state government for the conducting of the degree and PG exams in the state.
The court said that the conducting of the exams was a policy decision of the state government, and that it (the court) could not interfere with it.
The division bench of the High Court however asked the government and other authorities to conduct the exams by following the Covid-19 norms.
The HC passed these orders while dealing with a batch of Public Interest Litigation (PILs) filed against the conducting of the exams amid the coronavirus crisis.
The government told the court that it would hold the semester exams as usual. It also said that it would consider all those who passed the supplementary exams as regular students.
The government also told the HC that the autonomous colleges could hold the exams at times convenient to them.
Intervening at this juncture, the counsel for the petitioners urged the HC to ask for the schedule for the supplementary exams.
Responding to this, the counsel for the JNTU said that the university would hold the supplementary exams in two months.
The JNTU exams will commence on Wednesday, and the OU semester exams will commence on Thursday.
