The Telangana Health Department has released a notification inviting applications for the recruitment of medical professionals to contractual posts for doctors, nurses and lab technicians.
The state government is keen to hire 50,000 MBBS students. However, the notification specifies that retired medical professionals are also eligible to apply for the posts.
The salary being offered to specialist medical officers is Rs 1 lakh per month, while medical officers with an MBBS will get Rs 40,000. Non-allopathic health workers will be paid up to Rs 35,000 a month and staff nurses and technicians will get Rs 23,000 Rs 17,000 respectively.
Applications are to be submitted
here by May 22.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had recently directed the officials of the health department to appoint medical professionals to deal with the surge in patients owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The recruitments, it is hoped, will go a long way in easing the burden of existing healthcare workers.
A task force headed by IT Minister K T Rama Rao, which was created to oversee the management of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in Telangana, which
met at the BRKR Bhavan yesterday, is also currently working on increasing the number of health workers in Telangana.
