The CM asked the Collectors to closely monitor the two-week long green drive to ensure its success, and to send daily reports of the initiative to his camp office.
He also directed the district administration to coordinate with the sarpanches, ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, officials, NGOs, SHGs and other people's representatives, and participate in the massive afforestation undertaking.
Rao also exhorted the people, schools, traders and businessmen in the State to actively participate in the drive and help achieve the target of planting 46 crore saplings in all the districts.
He said that the plantation of saplings should be done at all thoroughfares, highways, main roads, market yards, open places, parks, schools, public and private institutions, and vacant places.
Rao also asked the officials to create awareness among the people on the need for protecting saplings after the plantation drive.
