Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today expressed concern that development programs in the villages and towns of the state were not proceeding as planned.
Addressing a meeting of district officials at the Pragati Bhavan, KCR said, "There should not be any delays in the implementation of the Palle Pragathi, Pattana Pragathi, Haritha Haram, and other programs from July 1 to 10."
He then enquired why various developmental works had not yet been completed, and added, "Owing to the success of our many irrigation projects, Telangana has become an important seed bowl of the country. District officials must now work to check the sale of spurious seeds and to ensure the timely availability of fertilisers to all the farmers of the state."
"I am distressed to see that despite the availability of adequate funds under various plans, the state's district Collectors, assistant Collectors, and other officials are not focusing on completing important developmental works. Such works must be completed on schedule in rural areas where the delays in completion are a source of great worry. Officials must realise that our government is committed to inclusive growth and all-round development. Unless Telangana's rural pockets are equipped with every basic facility, we cannot claim to be developed. So, it important to complete the projects," KCR stated.
The CM then instructed the officials to focus on the completion of the Palle Pragathi, Pattana Pragathi and Haritha Haram programs that will be held next month. He is likely to make surprise visits to various villages during the programs.
DPOs, DRDOs and other officials attended today's meeting.
