TRS Govt Trying To Erase Settlers' Votes: Congress

The Election Commission had removed 24% of voters saying that they had changed their rented houses, Telangana Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy alleged.
Hyderabad | 10th September 2015
Telangana Congress senior leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy today criticized the Greater Hyderabad Congress president Danam Nagender for failing to fight on the city's problems.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Reddy alleged that the TRS government was hatching a conspiracy to remove the settlers from the voters' list in the GHMC limits.

He lamented that the Election Commission was not showing any concern even though complaints were lodged in this regard.

Stating that the Election Commission had removed 24% of voters on the pretext that they had changed their rented houses, Reddy demanded that the Election Commission convene an all-party meeting in this regard.

He also said that he would bring this to the notice of the High Court and Central Election Commission.
