Governor Showers Praises On KCR In Budget Session Address

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Friday heaped praises on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in her maiden address to the joint session of the Telangana legislature, on the opening day of the 2020 budget session of the Assembly and Council.

In a speech dedicated to acclaiming the TRS government and its leader, she spent quite a bit of time on the latter.

She said that the biggest advantage for Telangana was the CM himself who first led the separate statehood movement and then became the Chief Minister of the newly-formed state.

She added that KCR was leading the state from the front and taking it on a path of progress and development.

"The Telangana region and society, which were destroyed in all sectors during the united Andhra Pradesh rule, now, under the visionary and dynamic leadership of its Chief Minister Sri Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, is moving forward with perfect planning, sincerity and commitment ever since he took over the reigns of the state six years ago. I have no doubt to state that the forward movement of the state under the leadership of the dynamic CM is yielding good results now (sic)," she said to loud applause from the treasury benches.

She added that the infant state had become a role model to the entire country in many sectors. Recalling the "pathetic" condition of the state at the time it was separated from AP and was "backward" in all sectors, she pointed out how even such basic amenities such as power were frugal.

"There was no minimum security for the poor. Suicides, starvation deaths and migration were the order of the day. The meagre Rs 200 monthly pension given to the poor of the state was not able to meet their basic needs. The entire farm and irrigation sectors were in a state of crisis. The situation was so pathetic that thousands of farmers who were in despair and distress routinely committed suicides," she claimed.

She then proceeded to speak elaborately of how KCR performed his miracles.
