Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Education K Srihari today said that the Telangana government would conduct the DSC for teachers' recruitment by June 2016.
"We have asked the officials to finalise the actual number of teacher posts lying vacant in the districts," he said.
The flagship TRS program of free KG-to-PG education would become operational from the next academic year, he announced.
Srihari said that clarity would come to the new education policy soon as the modalities were being prepared.
The government had released Rs 1,500 crores to provide facilities and infrastructure in colleges, the education minister added.
Referring to free education for journalists' children, he said that they could not release a GO to that effect, though instructions had been given to the DEOs concerned.
Srihari criticized the Centre for not purchasing all the cotton from the farmers in Telangana. He lashed out at the BJP government for causing a lot of inconvenience to the cotton growers who were awaiting the MSP.
He also condemned the Opposition for making false comments on the Warangal Lok Sabha by-poll result. The result of by-poll was a slap on the Opposition who should stop slinging mud on the government, he said.
