The Telangana BJP today alleged that the State government had not considered any of its suggestions on the delimitation of districts in the recent all-Party meeting, and had instead shrewdly proposed to divide only those constituencies where the TRS had a low representation.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, BJP leaders Malla Reddy, Meesala Chandraiah and Narsimha Reddy said that the cabinet Sub-Committee did exactly the opposite of what Chief Minster KCR had promised. KCR had promised to consider the opinions of the public and the Opposition, and had even dedicated a section in the government website for the purpose, they said, but had consigned all of them to the dustbin.
The Opposition parties were against the creation of the Hanamkonda district, the scrapping of Hayathnagar mandal and the merger of Shadnagar into the Shamshabad district, they said. "However, these concerns were not considered by the government."
"Besides ignoring the suggestions, the government also added several mandals to various districts forcibly. Husnabad mandal was made part of the Siddipet area instead of the Karimnagar district. It also increased the number of mandals in the Ranga Reddy district by just five, although many more mandals are needed for more decentralization. Surprisingly, it left Hyderabad untouched," the BJP leaders claimed.
The Telangana BJP demanded that the Chief Minister organize another all-Party meeting to address the Opposition's concerns.
