The Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana has invited Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to discuss the issue of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
According to sources, the Chief Minister is likely to meet the GoM at 8am on Thursday in New Delhi. He would be given an opportunity to spell out his stand on the bifurcation, and on other issues related to the formation of Telangana.
It may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister has openly opposed the division of the state, and has listed out several problems that might crop up due to the formation of Telangana. The GoM, which has already heard the views of different political parties, including the ruling Congress party, has invited the Chief Minister separately in view of his negative stand on Telangana.
The itself Congress has held twin opinions on the issue, with Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha supporting Telangana, and minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar speaking up against the bifurcation.
MIM, BJP, CPI, TRS, CPI (M) and YSRCP presented their views before the GoM on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Besides the Chief Minister, the GoM will also meet union ministers from the Seemandhra region on November 18. (INN)
