FPS Dealers Call Off Their Proposed Strike
The Fair Price Shop dealers of Telangana have decided to call off their proposed strike after an assurance by Minister for Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar.
The Fair Price Shop dealers of the State have decided to call off their proposed strike after an assurance given by Minister for Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar to them that he would take up their grievances to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
After the FPS dealers announced that they would go on an indefinite strike from June 5 in support of their demands, Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar held a meeting with the representatives of the Telangana FPS Dealers Joint Action Committee at the Secretariat today and discussed the dealers' 22 demands in detail.
During the meeting, the minister said that the State government was committed to resolving 20 demands out of the 22, and was ready to issue GOs in this regard within a week.
He said that the proposed demand of enhancing the honorarium for the dealers and increasing their commissions would be taken to the notice of the Chief Minister and that he would try to resolve the demand.
Expressing happiness over the assurance given by the minister, the representatives of the JAC announced that they would call off their proposed strike.
They said that they would believe in the CM, and hoped that their issues would be resolved as soon as possible.
MLAs Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and Padma Devender Reddy, Civil Supplies Commissioner V Anil Kumar, Dealers' JAC Chairman Nayikoti Raju and others were present.
