BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today made controversial remarks while addressing a gathering at Gudem village of Mustabad mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district after unveiling a statue of Chatrapathi Sivaji, a Maharastrian king.
He said that the whole of Telangana was now filled with Hindutva feelings.
He also said that anyone who worked under a saffron-coloured flag was a true Hindu irrespective of his political party affiliation, and that the Hindu society would recognise as Hindus only those who gave respect to the saffron flag.
He urged the people to reject all those leaders who played secular politics for getting votes. He also told the people to know about the history of Sivaji and follow his footsteps, and asked all Hindus to install statues of the leader in every village. He termed Sivaji as a god for the Hindus and said that the Maharastrian king had worked tirelessly and courageously for the protection of the Hindu religion and Hindu society. He said that the Hindu religion would not even be left today if Sivaji had decided not to work for its protection.
Referring to the insulting remarks of some leaders against Hindu deities like Lord Ayyappa and Goddess Saraswathi, Bandi said that it was unfortunate that few leaders condemned those comments. He warned leaders who insulted Hindu deities that the BJP would chase them away from the country. He said that it was not great to simply live for 100 years, but that it was honourable to live for the protection of the Hindu religion.
Addressing another gathering at Venkatpur village of Yellareddypeta mandal in the district, Bandi said that the most important objective of his life was to work for the protection of the Hindu religion. He promised to not use his religion for political gain. He added that the Hindu religion was not against any other religion, and that despite that it had become fashionable for some leaders to insult it. He called upon the party's leaders to draw inspiration from Sivaji, and to work for the unity of all the Hindus and for the protection of the Hindu religion till their last breath.
He also vowed not to rest till he ensured the end of the rule of the Razakars in Telangana.
