"Naa Bangaru Talli" Exempted From Entertainment Tax
The film has been produced by Prajwala, a popular NGO working to combat sex trafficking for the last 19 years, in association with Suntouch Productions.
The Telangana Government on Monday issued orders exempting the Telugu feature film "Naa Bangaru Talli" from payment of entertainment tax.
The film has been produced by Prajwala, a popular anti-trafficking NGO which has been working to combat sex trafficking for the last 19 years, in association with Suntouch Productions.
The feature film has a social message against the trafficking of innocent women/children and the sex trade. Prajwala had requested the government for 100 per cent exemption from Entertainment Tax.
"The film Naa Bangaru Talli is technically excellent. The performance of the artists and the technicians are good. The subject which has been handled by the director is very sensitive, and needs encouragement from all concerned. The social evils which are affecting so many families in the State have been boldly portrayed by the producer. We have unanimously decided to extend support from the Government to encourage such filmmakers," the Screening Committee of the Information & Public Relations Department stated.
Based on this recommendation, the State Government issued orders granting exemption from entertainment tax for the film. (INN)
